Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am very happy to welcome you to Poznań, the capital city of Wielkopolska region, and to invite you to enjoy your own film adventure at the 26th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!

For over 40 years now this extremely popular film marathon for children and young people has been teaching, entertaining and fascinating its audience. It shows to young cinemagoers what is the most interesting and valuable in film art. It often initiates a passion for the cinema.

The Festival programme includes worthy films, engaging the viewer with their artistic values and original perspective on the world of the young. There are movies which develop the knowledge of the world, history, tradition and culture of other societies, and - most importantly - those whose message promotes good role models and standards of behaviour, which teach understanding and tolerance.

Film is a special medium, whose power stimulates imagination, invites to the fantasy world, stirs up emotions, sensitises. It often helps to make choices and to pass judgments. I am convinced that the International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! plays a unique role in inspiring and shaping the best values in young cineastes.

I believe that this year’s Festival, just like in previous years, will be full of thrills, impressions and emotions. That is what I wish to all of you: the Organisers, Visitors and, first of all, to Young Cinemagoers.
