Tomo, just turned sixteen and released from social care, runs away to London to escape a lonely, difficult life in the Midlands. Marek lives with his father, a Polish construction worker who spends his evenings drinking with friends. Quiet and sensitive, young Marek is a keen photographer who feels uncomfortable in his father’s world.
Both struggle to make sense of their new lives and a chance meeting in Somers Town, London, leads the two to form an unexpected partnership. Unbeknowst to his father, Marek offers homeless Tomo a place to stay and the two boys begin to earn money from an entrepreneurial and eccentric neighbour, Graham.
